Nicole was attending youth group on July 6th, 2022 at First Baptist Church Broken Arrow. On that evening, a new face strolled by. Nicole turned to her best friend and future maid of honor Abigail and said "Who's that? He's the epitome of my type!". Abigail responded, "That's Caleb, he's 19 and SINGLE!". Later that night, Caleb came up to Nicole to teach her a new dance move and the friendship began. They then met up for coffee and chatted with each other for hours. What Nicole learned was that Caleb did not live in Oklahoma where she resided, he was only visiting his parents for the week. Caleb was in college in North Carolina, following his dad's footsteps to become a pastor, as his dad is the current next gen pastor at First Baptist Church Broken Arrow. When he returned to North Carolina, they decided to stay in touch. Over those months of building a friendship, Caleb moved his school online to live in Oklahoma. That fall, after Caleb asked her father for permission to date his daughter, the couple became official on October 11th, 2022.

Before the couple started dating, Nicole wrote a song for Caleb called "I Could Fall In Love". Once it was released in February 2023 around Valentine's Day, they recorded a music video, where the final scene was them dancing on a rooftop overlooking the city of Tulsa. A year later, Caleb decided to celebrate Valentine's Day on the following weekend. That Saturday, Caleb surprised Nicole with a day full of activities. First, they grabbed coffee, looked at puppies, and then purchased a lint roller to remove all the dog fur on them. Their final destination was a parking garage in Tulsa, which Nicole was confused by. Leading up to that moment, Caleb seemed calm and collected, so she was not suspicious in any way. Caleb explained that he wanted to take her to the rooftop where they filmed the music video to dance together again. Being caught up in the butterflies of this romantic gesture, Nicole was still clueless and just went along, happy as ever. Nicole didn't know it yet, but they were about to dance to their future wedding's first dance song. When they were up there, a drone started flying around them, and Nicole somehow brushed it off, still unknowing of what was to come. That was when Caleb got on one knee, and asked Nicole to spend the rest of his life with her in marriage. After jumping around and saying "oh my gosh" repeatedly, Nicole made the easiest decision of her life- and said yes!
